Creative Cape Town’ favourite gal, Kim Orgill, has at long last raised the curtain on her latest business venture. Every Second Counts is a bespoke online gifting store catering exclusively for women.
Fully functional and responsive, the ESC website is ideal for sending and receiving novelty gifts on-the-go, from your mobile phone; thus, making shopping for birthdays, anniversaries and wedding presents fast, easy and super convenient. Big on personal service, each order is individually wrapped, specially fragranced, gift-boxed and hand-delivered to your doorstep. The gifts are packaged in the brand’s classic grey and white colours and a beautiful dragonfly logo; its shiny iridescent wings being a symbol of light and metamorphosis.
“Each time a friend unwraps an ESC present she’s engaging her senses of sight, touch and smell and in giving her that experience, you’re not only recreating the time-honoured nostalgia of gift-giving, but reminding her of just how loved and special she is,” Kim said.
ESC was recently launched at The Larder, a café in Diep River, which has been selling hand-crafted furniture since 1987. The gathering was an intimate affair for friends, family and business associates.
Time-themed in line with Alice in Wonderland’s White Rabbit – renowned for carrying a pocket watch – the launch of Every Second Counts offered a sneak-peek into a line of exciting giftware that is selling very well online, already.
In the offering: luxurious satin pillowcases finished with an Oxford pleat which are available in 10 exquisite colours; Kim’s signature room fragrance, Kuschi, inspired by her travels and – new to South Africa – Hair Scroo, hair pins that can secure your hair into a limitless number of styles, from a stylish wrapped ponytail to a classic chignon.
“The greatest feedback was that my products are an extension of my personality, and that they could feel the zeal and love with which each gift was packaged and wrapped,” said Kim.
“All my life experiences, good or bad, have brought me to this point in my life. I came to realise in the wake of my late father’s battle with cancer – that life is short and that every second counts. I decided to stop letting my insecurities and fears of imperfection hold me back. In starting ESC, I decided to step out of the cage and onto the stage.
